  I'm Damn Lucky

You guys: I spent a couple days trying to make something as beautiful as what you did for me. Unfortunately, nothing I wrote seemed to do justice to the immense feeling of love and gratitude I have toward you. I just can't believe that in this hellhole of a world, God blessed me with you.

  To Nicole

Tequila princess. Your highness, I adore. I walk the 18 slabs like I’ve done for 7 years through the sun and rain. I'll enter your temple with shoes wet; and my damp hair like icicles in your air-conditioned attic.
But it’s warm there. In your glow and company. I go down the street…
To Nicole

  Golden.

Sunshine on her heels, the girl in red illuminates the room with her diamond smile imprinting everything she comes across with the brilliant glow of her vibe. She exudes yellow and her laughter lingers in the air for years and years. Ageless and real. Twenty years and already she has tinged the world gold forever.

A tribute to a beautiful friendship

A game of Hotel next door. Walking dogs through the village. First person shooters. Bullshit and alcohol. Last full shows at ATC. A bumpy bus ride and cold weather. Marmalade and Mr. Fields and Coca-cola boyfriends. Seven years of friendship and the morning sun will never look more beautiful than it does from her roof.

Random Notes for a Birthday Girl

Her smile catches light like the crucifix around her neck. Always reaching out for cooler climes while her feet remain with us, weaving intricate patterns. Always seeking reasons in a countdown only recently concluded. She's been here two decades, of which I only share around six months, but I know enough to call her friend.
